The founder of MVD, Chris Pati is a 25+ year veteran of the Music Business.
Through his success as a Solo Artist, Producer and Label Owner since 1990 (Modern Voices Records), he has gone on to have over a dozen top 20 Billboard hits and Modern Voices Records was named a TOP 10 Label by Billboard in 1997. He parlayed that success into a Major Label distribution deal with Island/DefJam and then in 2002 formed MVD. Chris, as a musician and businessman, has always been ahead of the curve. Back in 1984 he was already refining the home project studio and fifteen years later he foresaw the demise of the brick and mortar music business. Thus, he decided to focus strictly on Digital Distribution and create and promote Digital Content. He created a digital store and website in 1995 at a time when the music industry was not ready for such a new business model. Now that everyone has caught up…. Welcome to MVD !!.
Director of Music Acquisitions John Tabacco is a composer, singer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist and graphic artist. John’s business ventures include co-founding Sonic Underground Studio, heading "It Iz What It Iz" Music Publishing and launching Sound Archeology™, specializing in analog-to-digital conversion technology. He has engineered, mixed and mastered music for hundreds of recording artists as well as projects released on such major labels as BMG, RCA, Rampage/Rhino, Columbia, and Rykodisc.
As an artist John has most recently fronted a band with Nigey Lennon and Candy Zappa at the famed Zappanale in Bad Dobern, East Germany. John also sang lead vocals from 2000-2003 with the Ed Palermo Big Band.
2003 saw Tabacco arranging music for Sony mega-producer Corey Rooney and his brother Jeff for projects involving Toni Braxton and her sister Tamar.
Web Consultant, Walter Sargent, is a veteran of the web technology and media businesses. He has developed core technology for several dot coms and is an active consultant and entreprenuer on Long Island, NY. Walt is also a musician / singer-songwriter, with 2 CDs. Check out waltsargent.com.
